TGJTA Visits Haikou Integrated Free Trade Zone with GAC and CIBJO

Mr. Chomphol Phornchindarak, President of the Thai Gem and Jewelry Traders Association (TGJTA), and Ms. Vilasinee Noknaum, Secretary-General of TGJTA, visited the Haikou Integrated Free Trade Zone (HKIFTZ) in Hainan, China. The visit was organized in collaboration with the Gems and Jewelry Trade Association of China (GAC) and the World Jewellery Confederation (CIBJO).

HKIFTZ is Hainan's only comprehensive bonded zone and one of the province's two special customs supervision areas. Renowned for its high level of economic openness and significant foreign investment, the Zone is strategically located in the Laocheng Economic Development Area, west of Haikou City. It boasts excellent connectivity through a modern network of sea, land, and air transport, with proximity to Macun Port (a national first-tier port), Haikou Expressway, and three high-speed rail stations within 15 kilometers.

The Zone is focused on developing Five Key Centers: a processing and manufacturing center, an R&D and design center, a logistics distribution center, an inspection and maintenance center, and a sales and service center. HKIFTZ benefits from a variety of preferential policies, including tax exemptions, tax refunds, and flexible tariff options for goods sold domestically.

This visit aimed to foster international business partnerships and explore investment opportunities for stakeholders in the gem and jewelry industry, particularly in high value-added sectors like design, manufacturing, and cross-border e-commerce.
